Another day out taking some shots for LifeProof and this time I wanted to try and get some mountain bike photos. Roddy was free today so we decided to take a trip over to Les Contamines and check out the biking there.
The main run down from the top of the Signal Lift is a fantastic flowing blue run? With some great berms and some fun man made features, we did a quick run down and managed to get the lift back up before heading over to Roselette And doing a much steeper run over there. With some fairly challenging single track it’s a much more demanding route than the main run, about half way down the track splits and we took the route through the ski gate blocking the track. Be warned, this track is super steep and unless you are a super star mountain biker it will involve a lot of walking (like we did). Eventually we came out at the church and stopped by the lake for something to eat as the lifts are closed over lunch time.
We wine up again and did the main trail, this time stopping to take a few photos on a big wooden berm and a drop off in the woods. Great for both of us as I got to take loads of photos and roddy got to session some of the fun sections. Time flies when you’re having fun and eventually the run closed and we had to take the wide track all the way down to the bottom.
I’ve always fancied driving over the Col de Voza, so on the way back we took my truck up over the top to take some more photos up there. This is a serious 4×4 track, but if you have a good off roader then it’s a lot of fun. There’s some steep loose sections and low ratio and good tyres were definitely required.
Les Contamines is a great place to go for a days riding and the main track is great for beginners and intermediates, well worth a visit if you’re in the area.
